John has been involved in the investment management and performance community for 21 years.

Currently he is the Vice President of West Coast Operations for The Spaulding Group, a consulting firm that specializes in investment performance measurement. I am a Senior Consultant for The Spaulding Group, and conduct training classes on performance measurement and attribution for The Spaulding Group. He co-designed The Spaulding Group's prep courses for the Principles and Expert levels for the CGIPS certification.

For 20 years, he was involved in developing performance measurement and portfolio management & accounting systems at Integrated Decision Systems (now part of CheckFree Investment Services). At Integrated Decision Systems, his role was Senior Director of Application Research. John was responsible for the business functionality of all performance measurement and portfolio management systems. Specialty areas included performance measurement & attribution, multicurrency accounting & performance, after-tax performance, fixed income accounting and analytics, derivatives processing and pre-trade decision support. As a programmer, he has developed all of the fixed income applications at IDS.

John is a frequent speaker at many industry conferences on after-tax performance, multicurrency accounting, and systems technology. He has poken twice at the CFA Institute's annual conference on the Performance Presentation Standards.

John has been published several times in the Journal of Performance Measurement, including articles on after-tax performance, the GIPS Standards and technology, and the impact of the introduction of the Euro on performance measurement.
